MINI, ONLINE WORKSHOP: Teeter Tune-Ups

The interest I have received for this class has been unimaginable !
I am so excited to offer it to you guys.

Just like a lot of foundation skills in dog training and agility the teeter also needs some regular maintenance to keep its performance in tiptop shape.  This course is intended to create a confident dog who slides into success by working on little tune-ups to adjust their teeter performance.  No heavy duty tools necessary. 🙂

This course begins June 24th and runs for 2 weeks.  Participants will receive access to the classroom, the ability to post videos and questions along with receiving unlimited feedback during the duration of the course.  The cost is $55 (47€) for a spot with 1 dog, participation with a second dog can be included for $25 (22€) more.  Please Contact Me about a Junior Handler Discount.

Nancy Gyes Seminar

I can get a bit lazy handling my own dogs- especially after such a long hiatus like we took ! :o)  It’s not that we don’t do okay- we just don’t do our best.  I was looking forward to this seminar to whip my handling back into shape.  It did that and more !  Was the eye opener that I was needing.

Sometimes I still think of Zae as my young, lackadaisical dog who would trot and go around barless jumps.  He isn’t.  I’ve put so much work into him and the progress he’s made has been unbelievable !  Working with Nancy helped me realize that I need to be a better teammate for Zae as the dog he is now so we can continue to grow as a team.  ❤️

Private lessons are now available at my field in Medford.  If there is enough interest, I’ll also run a weekly class.  See Training and Contact Me. 😊

A Great Weekend

This past weekend we competed in Klamath Falls and had a wonderful time !  It was such a nice venue with nice surface and everyone was sooo friendly and kind !!  The drive was through the mountains and just gorgeous- we stopped on the way home saturday for some hiking.  Spoiled in the best way.32019066_203442487113019_852202192487055360_nThe dogs had 12 runs total with four 1st places, two 2nd places and a QQ. 🙂  Mayhem earned 1st and 2nd in master jumpers.  Zae got 1st place in premier jumpers and standard on saturday and a QQ sunday with 1st in standard and 2nd in jumpers.  More importantly, had really nice moments in the ring with both dogs.  Mayhem’s ring stress was almost completely gone in one of his runs and it was a blast to run him like that.  Zae is having really brilliant moments and is beginning to find his stride a bit more.  We’re still learning to be a connected team on course but with not training or competing I am quite pleased with where we are at.  His contacts his weekend were so lovely too.  Something that I am wanting to train and should be able to soon now that we are acquiring some equipment again. 🙂 Back to training now !

Also, I am now available for private lessons in Medford.  🙂  Contact me to set something up.

Some Heel Upgrades w/ Zae

Lately I have been working on some ‘heel upgrades’ with Zae.  Doing so by playing around with little things seeing what we can do and what works best for us.  The ultimate goal in mind is always to clean up and make his heel even sharper.  I also decided to start to actually train a fun go to heel position.. still in very beginning stages but I am pleased so far.  Also, very happy with how sharp Zae’s turns are getting as I was looking to get cleaner, crisper 90° turns with him.

This little trick is a behavior I never ever actually trained with Zae.  I asked him to do it one day and from there we just started doing it. 🙂  He was just able to quickly figure it out because of all the foundation skills we train. I am intending to use this behavior to further clean up his heel. In the end, I want those sharp turns with a dog who stays nice and parallel to me.  I am also hoping it will help him pay more attention to details like my legs instead of just staring up at me with his goofy face and not paying true attention 😋  The beauty is in the details – training dogs is so fun !

I am currently accepting more online students !   This includes one-on-one personal classrooms with custom learning modules and feedback.  Let me know what you want to learn or improve and let’s get to work. 🙂
