2022 Recap

A little late posting this recap (what a shocker, haha)… it was a quieter year as far as competing went.  After a really terrible experience at an agility trial early on in the year we stopped trialing agility in the PNW.  Instead, focused on obedience with Zae & did other fun things like FastCat + herding.  The dogs went up to WA for AKC herding instinct tests & also did some herding lessons in summer/early fall.  The big news of the year was that Midna came home from France (after a long wait !) & that Onnea was bred + had her puppies.  Having a litter has been a big thing in planning for nearly a decade now & the A-litter did not disappoint. ❤️

Lure coursing !

The skipskaps had their first lure coursing (AKC fastcat) competition this past weekend and they had a blast !! Here are some photos of them flying after the ‘bunny’ 💕 Hoping to get their Bcat’s eventually.

In other news, Onnea finished her last two Rally Excellent legs, earned her RE title and is now eligible for her Pyrshep Versatility Silver award !  So proud of her.

Looking forward to her puppies later this fall.  I am currently taking a waiting list for those that are interested.  Don’t hesitate to reach out !

2020 Updates- Team USA for Brazil !!

We ditched our AKC Nationals plan and instead graciously accepted an invite to join Team USA for the Americas y Carribe event March 26-29th in Brazil !! 🎉🇺🇸 AyC is an FCI event that is like the European Open but for the Americas.  We are really looking forward to this exciting opportunity !

Zae also qualified for World Team Tryouts last weekend and we will be heading to Minnesota in May to do our best and hopefully earn a spot on the world team ! 😱🇺🇸

We’ve been working hard, pushing ourselves and continuing to learn lots !  From practicing on courses from big international events, to scoping out and setting up/running courses from judges we will see in Brazil and attending seminars to learn and grow other from successful international competitors.  The learning never stops and we can always continue to get better and better.  I love continuing to learn and better myself so I can continue to offer the best to my lovely students.

We also attended the ISC cup up in Mulino in January.  The judge was world renowned Tamas Traj from Hungary- who will also be a  judge this year at our USA world team tryouts !  Was a lot of fun to run his courses… and at an AKC trial !! Was such a cool event with a fun group !  I look forward to ISC events continuing to show up- they are exactly what USA agility needs.  🎉

In February, Onnea turned a year old !!  We celebrated the day Feb 19th with a fun run here and fundraising for Zae’s trip.  A good time was had by all.  ❤️ It’s hard to believe.  And hard to imagine life without her.  She is such a special and cool dog.  I love her sooo much !!

We also had a New Years Day fun run to ring in the new year with agility, fun and friends.  Here are some photos from the event.  Full gallery on Flickr.

We have lots of exciting stuff planned for 2020 and already it’s becoming a year to remember !! 😃

Winter Update

Mayhem earned his MACH in Nov, turned 9 years old and went into retirement from competing.  He went out with a bang earning 1st and 2nd places each day having a blast.  What an incredible little dog he is.  I am so grateful for the journey we’ve had together, all he’s taught me and everywhere he’s brought me.

And Zae qualified for AKC nationals !!  How exciting.  Nationals will be in March in Perry, GA.  Zae is also now one jumpers score away for qualifying for World Team Tryouts in May in Minnesota.

Onnea is just about 10 months old and we are having so much fun !!  We’ve begun truffle hunting.  We had our first bitework seminar with a decoy together.  Her agility foundations are going well.  We continue going on lots of adventures.  O is such a special little girl and each day my love grows for her even more !! ❤️

Stormy is also doing well.  She hasn’t slowed down one bit. She’s such a special dog to me and holds so much of my heart.  Grateful for each day we enjoy together.
