A PYRWILD Update

A lot of (EXCITING) stuff has happened in the last couple months.

We relocated to Eugene, OR and now live in a lovely cottage in the trees.

I am also now teaching agility full-time @ Infinity Dog Sports and am over the moon over this opportunity.Ā  I taught my first workshop last month and it was a huge success, too.Ā  I feel so in my element teaching and am quite honored to be an instructor.Ā  The community here has been so welcoming and kind.Ā  It truly is a dream come true.

eugene oregon indoor agility arena pyrwild workshop education

My life has 100% ‘gone to the dogs’ and I wouldn’t change a thing.Ā  I look forward to all the opportunities that will continue to come my way and all that PYRWILD education grows.

Mayhem had a super time competing last month @ the Eugene trial.Ā  He earned a Q/3rd in JWW saturday and a QQ with two first places sunday.Ā  He’s now 5 QQ’s away from his championship.Ā  I am looking forward to competing with him three days coming up this weekend again at Eugene.Ā  We’re both having lots of fun- and that’s the key and most important part to me.Ā  He’s such an incredible little dog.

I ended up pulling Zae’s World Team Tryout entry after his last competition some weekends ago.Ā  His confidence has been lacking in the trial environment and I wouldn’t want to go to a big event like that unless we could truly push and do our best.Ā  I will continue working to rebuild his confidence and focus at trials along with working on my own mental game at competitions.Ā  We’ll show ’em what we’ve got next year.Ā  šŸ™‚

Because, without a doubt, the skills are there.Ā  The teamwork is there.Ā  The love for playing the game together is there.

Here are some extreme weave scenarios I practiced with the skipskap last week.Ā  He’s such a superstar and always surprises me with his brilliant success.Ā  And yes, these were our ‘first tries’. šŸ™‚

We’re still settling in but enjoying living in Eugene !Ā  The dogs and I are quite happy to be an hour from the coast.Ā  More photos from our beach adventures on Flickr.

The NEXT Teeter Tune-Ups will run the month of June – sign up early to secure your spot ! šŸŒŸ

Building engagement and confidence by training beyond the agility field – an Aginotes Interview

I was interviewed by AgiNotes, a cool and useful app created for tracking training and competition results.Ā  See an excerpt and find a link to the full article below ! šŸ™‚

we have goals, agility trainer, agility goals, teamwork, connection, agility goals, dog tricks, pyr shep

ā€œFor engagement, reward the little things and add some energy yourself into your training and play. The biggest tip for this is to have fun! Set your dog up for success and understanding. I think practicing skills so the dog is confident and you are confident is important- making training, agility and life in general more fun for both the dog and handler.ā€
