Thank You 2018, Hello 2019

2018 was such a cool year- even if it was far from easy. From following my dreams and moving cross country and having my own agility field to train and teach at to Zae turning 4 and qualifying for World team tryouts… PYRWILD continues to grow and have opportunities I could only dream of. 🙂

We had our last trial of 2018 and it was probably Zae’s best competition performance wise overall. Really great moments and speed in the ring with him. He earned QQ #8 along with his masters agility title (MX) and novice fast title (NF). 1st and 2nd in T2B and some beautiful premier standard NQ’s.

It was the boston terrier club trial too so Stormy got to come out of retirement for a run each day and Mayhem got to run too. I had been taking a break from trialing Mayhem so I could mentally focus on Zae but T2B each day was perfect to enter. Stormy hadn’t trialed in over 3 years and we don’t practice for her soundness. Both dogs did really super. Stormy loved every second of it and Mayhem even earned 1st place.

I am so grateful for all we got to compete this year and the fun times we had. Along with the beautiful places we’ve got to experience for hiking and agility. Zae and I have also become a stronger team and continue to understand each other better and better each trial. I continue to learn and become better with this little dog ! We’ve also kindly been welcomed into the agility community here in Oregon and continue to meet cool new friends. 🙂

Thank you to everyone who was part of our year. Thank you for all the love and support and a huge thank you to all my amazing students for giving me the opportunity teach and honor of working with them. ❤️ Looking forward to all the amazing moments and opportunities 2019 brings !

End of Summer Update

I have been slacking on posting updates here. It is so much easier to keep our Instagram updated. 😛

We did some competitions this summer and feeling more ‘back in the swing’ after our huge break and moving. Zae has earned more scores towards tryouts. Mayhem is chasing 7 QQ’s for his MACH still (with over well over 900 points currently). I believe we will have two more competitions this year.

The video is from a 4 day trial last month . I am still having some ups and downs in the ring with Zae and learning to handle and connect with him best. But am continuing to note and build on the nice parts. 🙂

Another video, with both dogs, from a 4 day trial in California can be seen here. Was such a fun trial outdoors with mild weather and a lovely drive down the coast there.

It has been a very hot summer and the last two months or so have been extremely smokey from the wildfires cooping us in a bit. The skies have cleared since (yay !) and the temperature is beginning to drop. I am looking forward to training more come fall. My field is continuing to come together nicely and is so cool to have.

We go hiking and into nature any chance possible. 🙂 The lakes are dried now but enjoyed some swimming too.

I have now offered Teeter Tune-Ups three times and it has been such a fun class to teach ! Students from nine different countries have now been a part of this course- I cannot believe it !! 😀 So cool, and I am so honored to be able to teach online. I want to send a huge thank you to all my students past, present and future for this opportunity ! ❤️

PYRWILD has also secured sponsorship from two very cool Finish companies: AgiNotes and Nutrolin. AgiNotes is an app, or online service, which is designed by agility competitors for agility competitors ! It is a cool database to store trainings, competition results, course maps, comments, things to work on, points of weakness, etc and even has graphs and other visuals. Nutrolin is a human-grade fatty oil supplement company for active dogs. My dogs are on the Sport blend and also get Skin&Coat. The dogs LOVE the oils on their food and I have also noticed their fur is soo shiny and feels so soft. I am so excited to be supported by these cool companies- thank you ! ❤️

A Great Weekend

This past weekend we competed in Klamath Falls and had a wonderful time ! It was such a nice venue with nice surface and everyone was sooo friendly and kind !! The drive was through the mountains and just gorgeous- we stopped on the way home saturday for some hiking. Spoiled in the best way. 32019066_203442487113019_852202192487055360_n The dogs had 12 runs total with four 1st places, two 2nd places and a QQ. 🙂 Mayhem earned 1st and 2nd in master jumpers. Zae got 1st place in premier jumpers and standard on saturday and a QQ sunday with 1st in standard and 2nd in jumpers. More importantly, had really nice moments in the ring with both dogs. Mayhem’s ring stress was almost completely gone in one of his runs and it was a blast to run him like that. Zae is having really brilliant moments and is beginning to find his stride a bit more. We’re still learning to be a connected team on course but with not training or competing I am quite pleased with where we are at. His contacts his weekend were so lovely too. Something that I am wanting to train and should be able to soon now that we are acquiring some equipment again. 🙂 Back to training now !

2018 Update

In January we relocated to Oregon. A dream come true. Packed my stuff and my dogs in my little car and we made the 35hr journey with smooth sailing. The weather here is lovely and mild and the area is full of nature and amazing views. We have a big yard with lots of land and the dogs have been enjoying lots of walks.

Mayhem and Zae are entered in a trial in Albany, OR this weekend. Zae is entered in both premier runs sat/sun too. Lots of ring time ! Running in horse arenas will be a bit of a change for both dogs but longterm will be better. More space and better footing. I am super excited and looking forward to spending time with dogs and friends for the weekend.

However, the dogs haven’t seen equipment in 8+ months. With getting the stars to align in order to move for some time I was not doing agility. Not wanting to commit to entering a trial in one state when I was looking to leave to another. 🙂 And just taking a break and not taking the time to drive an hour each week to train dogs and worked instead.

So I took a day off and made the 3.5hr drive up to Salem and back just to train the dogs. Had to make sure we didn’t forget everything. 🙂 The barn is absolutely amazing with great surface sad it is so far away. Working with the dogs was really fun. Time off is always golden and of course after a lengthy break we have some skills to repolish and I have to get back in sync with handling myself. 🙂 But love these dogs ❤️
